A contemporary opera by Marco Tutino, 2015.

La Ciociara follows a mother trying to shield her daughter from the horrors of war in the aftermath of a World War Two battle.

The opera is based on a novel by Alberto Moravia, while the 1960 film version (La Ciociara) starred Sophia Loren. Audiences will have the chance to see a screening of the film before each performance as part of WFO 2023.
